Ira Scot Meyerowitz founded his firm 15 years ago. He has over 25 years of experience as a lawyer. He graduated at top of his class, magna cum laude, where he participated in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP), and specialized in litigation and trial advocacy, and then he interned at the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney's Office, and clerked for a U.S. Federal District Court Judge, both in the Southern District of New York.
​We are a general practice that provides legal services in three main practice areas of commercial and civil litigation, and contracts, and corporate, specializing in entertainment, music and film, podcasts and social media, trademarks and copyrights, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property (IP) infringement, infringement of name, likeness and image, civil lawsuits like defamation, violations of right to privacy, and the right of publicity, artist royalty recovery cases, collection cases, breach of contract, breach of partnership agreements, artist, management agreements and label and studio deals, etc., misappropriation of corporate trade secrets, proprietary and confidential information, and unfair competition, personal injury cases (car accident, slip and falls), insurance property damage claims for luxury car rentals, collections cases, and labor and employment law cases, including, EEOC, NYC Human Rights Division of human rights and discrimination and retaliation and wrongful termination, landlord tenant (either side), and securities litigation representing the firm or the stockbrokers (in cases like, customer arbitrations, Rule 10b5 actions, broker raiding cases, enforcing or defending against non-competes and non-solicitations and confidentiality agreements, and the theft or misappropriation of firm trade secrets, confidential and proprietary information, and FINRA and SEC investigations and enforcement actions).
We have significant experience, representing defendants or plaintiffs in: (a) pre-suit, cease and desist and demand letters, settlement negotiations and agreements; (b) litigation post filing of lawsuit, emergency applications for relief like orders to show cause (OSC) with temporary restraining orders (TRO) to stay and stop, bar and enjoin a party from violating your rights, or hiding, absconding with, moving, taking, transferring real and personal property, assets, or funds in bank accounts, and drafting and filing complaints or answers and counterclaims, appearing in other states as a pro hac vice admission so Mr. Meyerowitz may appear as attorney of record in your case outside of New York State, and motions to dismiss, conducting complex discovery, motions for summary judgment, and jury and bench trials, and appeals, as well as ADR arbitrations and mediations (AAA, FINRA, etc.); and (c) contract work, devising and creating a contractual framework for your business so the legal architecture of your business protects you, and is sound and establishes the rights and obligations of the parties, like, you customers, vendors, partners, etc. and they protect you, and we also review contracts for our clients, negotiate contracts with third-parties, and lastly, in updating and refreshing your business contracts to make them better and compliant with newly promulgated rules, regulations and laws; and (d) lastly, setting up companies, LLCs, etc, and creating the legal architecture of your business to protect your business and to secure the rights and obligations of the investors, owners, members, shareholders, C-Suite officers; and (e) providing advice and consulting for our clients on legal matters.
Today, Mr. Meyerowitz represents a great variety of clientele from artists, to agents and managers, to social media influencers and podcasters, filmmakers, and to small and medium size entrepreneurs of all kinds of business, and to individuals in personal injury and defamations cases.​

Our offices are located at the perfect mid-town location a block from Grand Central and Bryant Park, 295 Madison Avenue, at 41st Street, we have a spectacular outdoor deck that surrounds our 22nd Floor office, where sometimes we conduct business meetings, and we host firm fall and spring events with friends and clients with live music, and a beautiful nighttime view of the surrounding buildings and down 42nd Street to Bryant Park and then Times Square, you can even see the ball drop on New Year's Eve.
